Message from the Chief
“I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Aurora Police Departments web site. The Aurora Police Department is committed to providing the finest police service possible. The men and women of the Aurora Police Department are committed to core values that include integrity, reliability, honesty, and truthfulness that contribute to our high degree of professional standards. To us, providing police services is more than just writing a report after a crime has been committed. It means working with the community to prevent crime and to solve community problems
Our community has a strong interest in public safety issues and the Aurora Police Department is striving to be more responsive to those needs. It is our intent to work with our community to develop and implement solutions to our problems. This web site is another tool in the establishment of positive, Community-Oriented Policing. In addition to offering general information regarding our agency and its services, we will be expanding this site to include features, resources, and bulletins relating to our partnerships with our communities.
On Friday, March 9th 2012 TJ Pendergast and his new K9 partner, Cento, will be graduating from the Police Dog Training Course at Vohne Liche Kennels. Officer Pendergast and Cento have spent the last six weeks training and will be on patrol in Aurora immediately. The Aurora Police Department would like to thank the Dearborn Community Foundation for a grant from the Lawrenceburg Grant Program to help fund the new K9. In January K9 Cib was retired for health reasons. Cib will remain in Aurora as a member of Sgt. Mike Prudenti's family.
Please feel free to offer your comments regarding what you see, or tell us what you would like to see. We appreciate your comments.”
Sincerely,
Bryan H. Fields
Chief of Police
